Mr. Cooper graduated from Dartmouth College, cum laude in 1959, and from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, in 1962. He was article editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Following graduation, he has practiced continuously in the field of civil litigation, handling all type of personal injury, commercial, and professional negligence litigation. He has written extensively in the field of civil litigation, including a textbook on Pennsylvania trial practice.
Mr. Cooper is a Past President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, and was a member of the A. B. A. House of Delegates. For twenty years, he taught trial practice at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and is listed in all issues of Best Lawyers of America. He has received the P.B.A Bar Medal and The Distinguished Service Medal of the Academy of Trial Lawyers. His mediation work has included The Sharon Steel Co. and The AHERF bankruptcy litigation, in addition to numerous private disputes.
